Poker Is More Than Solo Wins—It’s About Team Spirit

When friends become teammates and the poker table becomes a shared battleground, every calculated move and knowing glance brings a new layer of warmth to this game of wits.

On July 4th, RDPT JEJU 2025 (JUL) returns to Jeju—this time with a twist. Sponsored by RD Expedition Club, the spotlight turns to team competition, where squads of diverse styles and stories come together to prove that poker’s greatest magic lies not just in the cards, but in the chemistry between players.

Forget nosebleed stakes—the real drama is in the dynamics. Let’s meet the teams ready to take on the felt.

Team ShangHai Watermelon Cutter

In Shanghai, there’s a team that’s more like a family. Off the felt, they grind hand histories and swap strategy; when it’s go-time, they show up united and fearless.

Wenqing Cai, the team leader, was the first to rally his crew: “Let’s go! Time to team up and shake things up!” And that’s exactly what they did—assembling a four-man dream team with Formula 1-style precision:

- Yu Li & Zhou Jiang as the intel and strategy core

- Xiongwei Huang as the fearless striker

- Cai himself as the closer

Their résumé speaks for itself. CAI's legendary AQ bluff-catch in a 3,800-entry CPG Main Event made headlines. Now, this battle-tested team is back—with one shared mission: win together, lose together.

Team Immortal

Unlike the hardcore competitiveness of Team Shanghai Watermelon Cutter, Team Immortal brings a refreshing twist—crossover talent at its finest.

Formed by four real-life friends from across the internet and entertainment world:

- Mumu, a popular gaming streamer and former team tournament champion

- Dabao, an actor-director

- Freeagain, an official Dota 2 commentator

- Wenwen, a lifestyle influencer

What started as casual Werewolf game nights soon evolved into poker talk—and eventually, into a team bonded by humor, chemistry, and a shared curiosity for the game. Their team name? A lighthearted nod to their sponsor, “Big thanks to our sponsorship.”

To them, team events aren’t just about competition—they’re about connection. “Compared to solo play, this feels more like a party,” they laugh. With crossover charisma, a carefree spirit, and zero pressure, Team Immortal is here to remind us that sometimes, the best poker moments come from simply enjoying the ride.

Team Poker Planet

This team brings together poker enthusiasts from all walks of life:

- Yuhan Liu (Hans), a full-time stock investor

- Xin Zeng, an interior design engineer

- Jiancheng Xu, a runner-up in the CPG Zhuhai High Roller

- Haozhao Wang, a seasoned tournament player with final tables at APT Phu Quoc and USOP Deepstack

What started as casual chats about hands soon evolved into deep strategy sessions. Day by day, they became more than just poker pals—they became a crew of relentless grinders.

The way this team came together? Total plot twist. During one of their regular discussions, a friend casually mentioned, “I’m actually commentating for RDPT this year.” That was it. Fate had spoken—it was time to squad up and take their game to the live stage.

At the helm is Hans, a player his teammates call a “walking GTO calculator.” With his sharp reads and deep theory knowledge, the team rallies behind his lead—playing with both confidence and swagger.

Their motto? “Get a little better every day.”For them, it’s never just about chasing cashes. It’s about growth. It’s about the grind. Whether they’re running solver sims or trading hand histories, they treat every conversation, every spot, every session as a chance to level up.

And that constant pursuit of improvement? That’s what makes them a serious threat—on and off the felt.

Team Evloss

Next up, meet “Team Evloss” - a team that blends tradition, talent, and a whole lot of personalities.

Formed by veteran poker commentator William and his protégé Wang Yifan, this is more than just a poker team—it’s a poker legacy in motion.

Team leader Wang Yifan is no stranger to RDPT. As a long-time commentator, he's covered countless iconic moments from behind the mic. But this time, he’s stepping out of the booth and into the arena—leading his team to battle with a new mission.

William once mentored Yifan. Now, Yifan is paying it forward by coaching Feik. Three generations of poker broadcasters, united with a shared goal: “Crush the pros with commentary power.” Each member brings something unique to the table:

- Wang Yifan, the “Mastermind” — A tournament pro, business owner, and variety show talent. He’s the strategic core, designing plays and keeping the team one step ahead.

- Kid, the “Trash Talk King” — A master of mind games, Kid uses words as weapons, throwing opponents off their rhythm with psychological warfare.

- William, the OG mentor— Calm, composed, and fundamentally sound. His presence anchors the team, bringing stability and experience to every hand.

- Feik, the “Lucky Charm” — With impeccable timing and uncanny run-good, Feik brings the heat when it counts. Whether it’s cards or vibes, he’s always in the right place at the right time.

And they’ve got results to back it up. At the GPI Asia Team Event, they advanced with a clever dynamic scoring strategy—earning respect while keeping things fun.

Their team motto? “We’re always right—even when we’re wrong.”

Expect fireworks in Jeju. With sharp plays, sharper wit, and unmatched chemistry, Team Evloss is ready to make waves. If their cards don’t get you—their banter just might.

36 teams. Infinite dynamics. Who will steal the spotlight and write the next chapter at RDPT?
